The Big Difference Between Juicing and Blending

Smoothies and juices are loaded with nutrients and they taste awesome. While they do have the same properties as the fruits or vegetables in their raw form, their liquid form has a different texture and appearance. The difference between a juice and a smoothie are the process, methods, and appliances used to make each drink.

Here Are The Differences?

Blending changes the texture and appearance of fruits and vegetables, making them spoonable or drinkable, this process does not cause them to lose any nutrients. So, by blending an apple, the body will digest the whole fruit including its fiber. Blended fruits and vegetables keep all of their dietary fiber content.

When juicing, the fiber is extracted or removed leaving the micronutrients in a liquid form. The fiber or pulp that is left behind is usually thrown away. The process requires squeezing or pressing the produce to extract its water; this can be done manually, or it may require a juice extractor for harder fruits and vegetables.

To make smoothies requires either a high-performance or traditional blender to puree the produce, the drink is usually smooth and thick. Smoothies are thicker and more filling than juices,  they contain the all of the fiber that has been extracted from the juice.

Here’s What You Need to Know About Juicing

Juicing is the quickest way to get nutrients into the body fast. Fresh juice delivers the raw goodness of fruits and vegetables straight to our system, almost like an intravenous injection. Fresh juice provides the body with enzymes vital to the metabolic process, critical elements that give the body the best energy. It is fast because it does not require much preparation to get the essential nutrients the body needs.

Juicing has several health benefits, including weight loss, body hydration, boosting the immune system, and fighting serious diseases. The water in juice is a natural source of water that helps to hydrate the body and provide essential fatty acids, minerals, vitamins, proteins, and carbohydrates.  Reap the health benefits of juicing by using fresh produce, not the powdered or ready-made juices found in the supermarkets.

Here’s What You Need to Know About Smoothies

Blending breaks apart the fiber and makes the fruit and vegetables easier to digest. Smoothies are more filling because they contain the entire fiber from the fruits and vegetables. The fiber in smoothies helps create a slow, even release of nutrients into the blood stream and prevents blood sugar spikes. Smoothies are easy and quick to make. so busy people, with hectic schedules, can eat breakfast regularly. Smoothies help the body to stay hydrated and can also help to manage weight. Unlike pills and supplements, the vitamins ingested from raw food are much more beneficial and healthier.

Conclusion

Whether you choose juice or a smoothie, you are still giving your body the essential nutrients. Both of these methods make use of healthy fruits and vegetables. Knowing the differences can help you decide what type of drink will best suit your health needs. The best part is that you’re in control.
